GENERAL HOUSE INFORMATION
Club House facilities are open the following hours:
Monday through Thursday:
7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.,
Friday:
7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Saturday:
8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Exceptions include the Mondays following Christmas and New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.
The business & accounting office is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays.
A coat-check room is provided on the first floor. The Club will assume no responsibility for loss of valuables unless left at the lobby office and the owner must present the proper receipt for it.
RESIDENT GUESTS
Except for their spouses, significant others, and children under the age of 21, members are prohibited from entertaining the same resident guest(s) on a regular basis unless said guest(s) is being proposed for membership in the Club.
CLUB FACILITIES
Members may reserve club facilities for special events such as:
- wedding receptions for sons, daughters or grandchildren
- lunches or dinners
- holiday parties
- meetings
- other functions
These reservations can be made through the Catering Office.
Members may also sponsor such events for friends and associates while assuming all liability for payment in the event the host does not remit charges in a timely manner.
There is a charge for use of the Main Dining Room, private dining rooms, and the Grand Ballroom. Please contact the Catering Office for details.
CONDUCT
Members shall conduct themselves as ladies and gentleman consistent with the Club’s standards prohibiting offensive conduct or conduct unbecoming a member or any other conduct which could bring reproach upon the Club. Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests. Any damage to the Club property caused by members or their guests will be charged to the member’s account.
Members and sponsored guests will be required to sign their full name and account number to a ticket for all supplies ordered or services rendered in any department of the Club.
RECIPROCAL GUIDELINES
The Club has reciprocity agreements with certain other Clubs. A list of these Clubs is available here and also on file at the Front Desk.
Reciprocal privileges are extended to all Equity and Non-Resident Members, with the exception of the Union Club in NYC which is available to Equity Members only.
SPECIAL HOTEL RATES
The following special hotel rates are available for Pendennis members, their guests, and Reciprocal Club members.
MEMBER PRIVACY
For the convenience and privacy of all members, the Club will host no event where there will be public media coverage unless prior approval is granted by the General Manager’s Office. In addition, it is strictly prohibited to use or reference the Pendennis Club’s name in conjunction with any event or function that is advertised in public media.
Members and guests must refrain from using cell phones in the Dining Rooms and Common Areas of the Clubhouse. Cell phones must be set on vibrate or silent. Cell phones may be used in the Phone Booths, Restrooms, Barber Shop, First Floor Ladies Reception Lounge and Men’s Locker Room.
Attire for Members & Guests
All Members and their Guests are expected to wear neat and clean attire at all times while they are at the Club as more fully described below. Standard everyday attire in all areas of the Club is, at a minimum, “Business Casual.” The dress requirement for special events will be defined as part of the posting or publication for each event. All events, including those sponsored by a member for an outside group or organization, are expected to comply with the Club’s dress code. Management will provide event sponsors with Club’s standard dress code and will direct sponsors to inform their guests and participants. Event sponsors shall at all times remain responsible for any infractions of the dress code by their guests.
BUSINESS CASUAL ATTIRE
For gentlemen this includes: optional coat and/or tie, collared shirts (dress shirt, golf shirt, button down or polo), turtlenecks or sweaters, khakis, slacks, or appropriate denim.
For women this includes: collared shirts, blouses, turtlenecks, sweaters, skirts, tailored pants, dress shorts or appropriate denim.
*Note: appropriate denim is defined as clean, with proper cut and fit, free from tears, frayed cuffs, and any holes.
Semi-Formal & Formal Attire
Semi-Formal Attire: Coat and tie for gentlemen, dresses and pantsuits for women.
Formal Attire: For gentlemen this includes black or white tie and gowns for women.
INNAPPROPRIATE ATTIRE
Shall include, but not be limited to: tee shirts (tank tops, halter tops, crop tops), sandals (beach sandals, Birkenstocks, flip flops), athletic wear (sweatpants, sweatshirts, jogging suits, spandex), torn or ragged clothing of any type, clothing with offensive or profane language, or provocative or revealing clothing.
Men shall not wear hats or caps in the Clubhouse, except when appropriate for a Club event.
The only exception to this dress code is for the Athletic Department, or the back stairwell between the rear entry to the building and back hallway Athletic Department door while going to and from the Athletic Department.
In these areas, clean and inoffensive athletic wear is permitted.
The club has adopted an “event focused” dress code program as outlined below. The dress code expectation for each event will be published in Club communications and will identify the required attire for each event using the following symbols.

- Beverage Service Monday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Gold Room By reservation only.
- Private Rooms and Rathskeller By reservation only.
- Reading Room By reservation only.
- The Library By reservation only.
- Athletic Department Food and beverage service is available Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Athletic Department is open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
